TradeNation needed to demystify margin trading for beginners — leverage, margins, volatility, long vs short — without risking a penny of real money. The answer: a fully interactive, nine-step trading simulator embedded directly into the TradeNation platform, where it features prominently on the homepage. Built with The Value Engine, the tool walks users through a complete simulated trade — from selecting their regulatory region and deposit, through market volatility and direction, to opening and closing a position against a live geopolitical trigger scenario.

  • TRADE_SUMMARY_LEDGER: Built a persistent trade summary header that re-computes balance, margin allocation, and exposure on every user decision via memoized Reselect selectors — zero wasted re-renders across the wizard lifecycle.
  • LIVE_PRICING_SIMULATION: Simulated bid/ask pricing on index markets (Germany 30 et al) with randomized tick movement, giving beginners an authentic feel for spread, leverage, and P&L without a backend.
